USC Rossier School of Education offers a range of master’s degree programs delivered online. These programs are each designed for educators at various stages in their careers — from aspiring teachers to experienced educators looking to become teacher leaders. Our programs combine research and practice, helping educators apply theory to practice in classrooms around the world.

Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)

This teaching degree is for aspiring teachers who want to gain the skills and knowledge they need to become great educators. This program also provides students the opportunity to be recommended for a teaching credential.

Master of Arts in Teaching – Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

The MAT – TESOL is designed for educators who want to become English language teaching specialists at home or abroad.

Master of Education in Teacher Leadership

This program is designed for experienced educators who seek instructional leadership opportunities in their schools, districts, charter organizations and beyond. Courses are designed to expand students’ knowledge of advanced teaching strategies and to build communities of practice with other teacher leaders.

Special Education Credential

This credential program prepares educators to meet the needs of students with a wide range of mild to moderate disabilities. This credential is available as an addition to our graduate programs or as a stand-alone program for California credentialed teachers.

Gifted Education Certificate

This is a certificate program for educators who wish to develop the skills and knowledge needed to meet the diverse needs of gifted and talented students. This certificate is available as an addition to our graduate programs.
