The purpose of this course is to provide students an opportunity to explore the challenges of diversity present in today’s organizational environments. Students will examine access and equity in the contexts of culture, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, religion and spirituality, ability and gender and how these contexts intersect with individual, group, institutional and structural beliefs and behaviors. In addition to the challenges related to diversity, students will also explore aspects of diversity as potential assets in creating rich and productive organizations. Students will then apply the knowledge they gain from these explorations to the framing, analysis and generation of solutions to contemporary organizational problems.
