ME School Counseling Licensure

The University of Southern California’s Master of Education in School Counseling program prepares educators to make a difference in the lives of students as K-12 school counselors.

This program leads to eligibility for California State Certification as a school counselor for grades K-12.

Students may also be eligible for certification in other states outside of California, however, certification requirements differ from state to state. Most state licensing boards require a master’s degree, testing, and potentially additional post-graduate coursework requirements. We encourage students to research the requirements specific to their resident state. Resources for each state’s licensing board can be found below:
