Interrogating Systems of Inequity in Professional Practice

This course is designed to give students a conceptual framework to understand and solve problems arising in educational contexts. Students examine various professional scenarios and practice considering them from the perspectives of many different stakeholders. They consider how others have attempted to address each particular scenario and review the relevant scientific literature. Guided by these materials, students learn to develop empirically based, socially just, customized approaches to some of the most pressing problems in education. Students will finish this course with a sound problem solving framework and professional communication skills that will allow them to impart and receive information necessary to influence their field.
