Rossier Creates Online Degree Program
From today’s Daily Trojan:
The USC Rossier School of Education has created the first Masters of Arts in Teaching program delivered online from a major research university that offers people across the country two different ways to pursue higher degrees in teaching.
For teachers wanting to improve their skills, earn an advanced degree and ultimately obtain their state specific teaching credentials, the program — MAT @ USC — can help them to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching in just over a year with a minimum of 30 units. This degree is the same as the degree earned by on-campus students.
“The benefits are enormous. This will make a USC Master of Arts in Teaching degree available to anybody across the country. … It will open an opportunity for many, many more people,” said Barbara Goen, assistant dean for communications for Rossier.
